Angel Studios, who brought you THE CHOSEN, has released a new film, HIS ONLY SON, which is a film about Abraham and Isaac found in the Book of Genesis chapters 21 and 22.
Synopsis:
His Only Son recounts one of the most controversial moments in the Old Testament—when Abraham was commanded by God to sacrifice his son Isaac on the mountain of Moriah. While traveling to the place of the sacrifice, alongside Isaac and two servants, Abraham is flooded with vivid memories from the years he and Sarah spent longing for the son they were promised—the son he must now lay upon the altar.

In one of the scenes, Abraham sees horse prints on the ground and he feels a presence behind him so he takes out his knife ready to attack and when he turns around, its Isaac and he says " Father it's only me".
My heart sank. 💔
In the latter part of the film, Isaac tells his father "We have the fire and the wood but where is the burnt offering? Abraham responds, "God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering. (Genesis 22 7-8)
I personally loved this movie! I cried and rejoiced knowing how this bible story is a foreshadow of God's redemptive love towards us in sacrificing his only son Jesus to die for our sins. When Isaac carried his wood for his sacrifice so did Jesus by carrying his cross. This is reality and this happened so that you and I can be saved and become his sons and daughters by his precious blood he shed in our place. There was no ram like there was for Isaac. Jesus became the lamb that was slain but arose on the third day to brings us new life in Him. Hallelujah, to the lamb of God! I love you Jesus.
