Greek for the week from the devotional: The Seven Churches of Revelation
Oh, wow what a timely word this is. Lately, I have been reading and studying the seven churches in the book of Revelation. The church of Sardis. A church body that is needing to wake up, found in Revelations 3:6
As you know this world is not getting any better but that does not mean that we too should fall prey to its destruction. As long as we have a foundation on the rock which is Jesus Christ, the one who loved us first by dying on the cross and rising on the third day so that you and I can have eternal life with him, we shall be victorious. When we receive him, we receive the Holy Spirit, the one who guides us into all truth.
Therefore, we who are already in Christ need to hear what the spirit has to say and obey.
We who are in Christ cannot be passive, we must diligently seek after him through the word of God, through prayer and worship, and give him all the glory.
Unfortunately, there are so many churches that are mostly interested in fame, entertainment, religion, and idol worship rather than being interested in a relationship with him. These churches are dead asleep.
Some may also make up their own way of serving him and make him out to be a God that works out for them in the way they see fit instead of following after God’s own heart. Let’s not be the church of Sardis.
I want to encourage you today to not give up and set your eyes and focus on the Lord. Continue to read his word, the blueprint for life. Talk to him as a father, as a friend, get to know him more and more.
Jesus is our soon coming King coming for his bride.
We are to be ready, we are to be awake spiritually in him for his arrival, which can happen at any moment like a thief in the night.
Repent and turn back to him. He loves us so much and is always there waiting for us to come to him. He is our strength, our comforter, and our peace.
Tomorrow is not promised but God’s promises are true.
For those who do not know the Lord and desire to and stay awake in him then today is your divine appointment.
If you want to accept Jesus in your heart repeat this out loud:
Dear Jesus, I believe you died for me and rose for me on the third day, please forgive my sins. I ask you to come into my heart and to become the Lord of my life. Teach me how to walk your way and how to love you and follow after your own heart. Thank you, Jesus, Amen
If you said this prayer, Congrats and welcome to the Family!
