Happy Saturday,
If you read my previous post, it was about me getting my haircut for the first time at the Aveda Institue and what products were used on my hair.
I really liked the way the be Curly curl creme performed on my tresses so I wanted to purchase at least a trial size.
I was excited to finally use my Walgreens cash rewards online so I purchased the full-size Aveda be curly curl enhancer and it will be shipping to my local Walgreens next week. EEK!
But, today’s post is about trying Uncle Funky’s Daughter Curly Magic Curl Stimulator gel. Whoa! that was a mouthful. LOL.
I too bought this with Walgreens cash rewards and only paid the difference. Score! This curl enhancing gel smells citrusy and the consistency is stretchy almost snotty LOL but in a good way and the ingredients listed on the bottle are good too. It left a slight cast and I scrunched it out with a bit of argan oil when it had fully dried. My hair felt soft, manageable and interestingly enough the citrus scent left and my hair just smelled like clean and fresh hair.
Hair Facts:
I have 2b/3a fine wavy hair and its medium density and medium porosity.
Here was my application:
I washed hair with Herbal Essences Rose Hips shampoo and then
conditioned with NYM Curl Talk conditioner and used the Denman brush to distribute it, no tangles, yay!
I then wrapped my hairs in a jersey material towel and got dressed.
I loosened the towel and brushed my locks with the Denman brush.
Then, I sectioned my hair and raked through the Uncle Funky’s Daughter Curly Magic Curl Stimulator gel and brushed through to distribute the product and scrunched.
I micro plopped with a cotton T-shirt then let it air dry but while still damp, added more gel and water on my hand, emulsified it then glazed it on the hair, and scrunched again to continue the air drying process.
These were my results!
I slept in a pineapple bun on a silk pillowcase but woke up to some frizz from the way I slept, no biggie. I let it down and it was soft wavy /curly and in good shape.
But since there was a bit of frizz, I refreshed with Lavander spray, scrunched and my hair looked even better than the first day. Oh Yeah! Uncle Funky’s Daughter is a janmin gel. 😄 I highly recommend it.
Lavender spray smells great and it’s easy to prepare.
In a glass spray bottle or any spray bottle pour in some distilled water and a few drops of lavender oil, close the bottle then shake it up.
Voila! Instant refresher spray.
(Big shout out to my little girl for taking mommy’s photos)😘
I hope you enjoyed today’s post and I pray you all to have a blessed and safe 4th of July Weekend 💕
