Thanksgiving is in a couple of days and I'm so Thankful to be collaborating once again with my beautiful blogger friend Alex. Here are some tips on how to invest in our handbags. Thanks Alex!
I love luxury handbags, but a lot of people do not know that there are steps that you need to take to make sure that each handbag you own stays in tip-top condition for years to come. Live About says, “Have you ever ruined one of your favorite handbags? Devastation! It doesn’t matter how much you paid for your handbag, the bottom line is you love it and want to keep it in mint condition! Below are some simple tips on how to take care of your handbags. The goal is to keep your handbag looking great and truly get your money’s worth out of it!”
Invest In A High-Quality Bag
My first tip for properly caring for handbags is to invest in a quality bag. Some ‘high quality brands’ are not actually high-quality handbag brands, so I recommend looking up reviews. Life Hacker says, “Properly store your handbag in your closet using a purse insert for support and a dust bag cover. Most handbags come with their own dust bag cover so make sure you don't throw it away! Another economical tip is to use tissue paper inside of your handbag to keep the shape and placing your bag inside of a pillowcase to avoid dust. Plastics and vinyl do not breathe and are moisture resistant – it actually traps wetness! What this means is that using plastic to store your bags just may cause mold. Gross, right? Stick with the tips outlined above to keep your bags looking like new.”
Never Put It On The Floor
Please, please, please never store your handbag on the floor. Aside from germs, there are other spills, grease spots, and dirt all over the floors of most restaurants, some homes, and even cars. Think about your car - you pump gas and maybe spill some (and if you don’t spill any, you know someone else has in the past!), then you get back in your car. If you had your purse where your feet go, oil is bound to touch your purse, which could destroy it. Never put it on the floor, in order to keep potential stains, grease, and dirt from staining or ruining your bag.

Store Your Bag Properly
You might think that once you have a bag, you can just toss it aside whenever it is not in use, right? No. You need to make sure to properly store your handbag in your closet using a purse insert for support and a dust bag cover. Most handbags come with their own dust bag cover so make sure you don't throw it away! This will definitely be helpful to use if you have many handbags - who wants to go out and buy an extra dust bag for each one? Not me! So, I just use the one that comes with the bag. Live About says, “Another economical tip is to use tissue paper inside of your handbag to keep the shape and placing your bag inside of a pillowcase to avoid dust. Consider Using A Liner
Another tip from Live About says, “Protect the inside of your handbag from things like spills, especially if you frequently change your bag, by using a handbag liner. Not only will your bag be protected, but you'll also get even more pockets for storing things and a liner makes it easy to swap out bags quickly.” I’m not sure about you, but I am one to spill things constantly, especially inside my purse (or car...or really anything valuable!), so I make sure to protect it. Don’t leave your hand sanitizer, or bottle of water to stain the inside of your purse. All you need is a liner to help with that!
Why Should You Take Care Of Your Luxury Handbags?
You may be thinking why you should even take care of your handbags - can’t you just get a new one? Well, yes, but some handbags can cost thousands of dollars and if you take great care of them, they can not only last a lifetime, but they can also make money for you, as well. Curious about how they can make money for you? Let me explain! The Atlanta-based company, Chapes-JPL, offers specialty collateral loans on things like handbags, luxury cars, fine art, jewelry, antiques, watches, and more. The collateral loans that Chapes-JPL offers are the lowest in the industry and are very fair. In fact, Chapes-JPL says, “Chapes-JPL has one simple goal, to provide affordable asset loans on jewelry, gold, diamonds, watches, and other valuable assets, at a low rate and at fair value. Unlike typical pawn shops that lend at extremely high rates (and in public storefronts for the world to see), Chapes-JPL provides loans at a low rate and in private financial offices.” Offering loans as low as $100 and as high as $5 Million, Chapes-JPL is your one-stop shop in Buckhead for the best loans, without having to worry about getting a bad deal. They have been in business for over 38 years and they have funded over $90 Million to their loyal customers. Stop by Chapes-JPL in Atlanta to find out why they offer the best low-interest collateral loans. You will be shocked that your handbags can actually make you money!
